A boutique solid-body from Doug Kauer's small Sacramento shop, this 2023 Kauer Banshee in Pelham Blue is the kind of guitar that rewards a closer look at every turn. The mahogany back and maple top construction gives it a balanced tonal foundation — warm through the mids with enough top-end clarity to cut — and at just 6.64 lbs it's a featherlight wear for an instrument with this much sonic presence. The wenge fingerboard is an inspired choice, adding stiffness and a woody, dry articulation that complements the Wolfetone KauerBuckers (7.53k/8.56k) beautifully — custom wound to Kauer's spec, they sit in PAF territory without simply copying it. Rickard banjo tuners are a signature Kauer touch, smooth and precise with a look all their own. The C-profile neck (.857"–.974") plays exactly as comfortable as the numbers suggest.
