Description

This 1964 Epiphone DeLuxe Custom features a cherry sunburst spruce top with flame maple back and sides, paired with a maple neck and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Formerly owned by Josh Smith, it weighs just 6.8 pounds and has a comfortable C-profile neck, 25" scale, and 12" radius. A Gibson patent-number humbucker is controlled by a single volume and tone control.

The guitar has been refretted and fitted with a non-original nut and bridge. Its original Johnny Smith-style mini-humbucker mounting holes have been plugged, and the enlarged pickup route was patched with mahogany. Additional work includes a plugged screw hole at the neck heel, plugged tuner holes, and overspray on the back of the neck and headstock area. Despite these changes, it remains in great overall condition and includes a hardshell case.
