The 1971 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe is a notable model in the Les Paul series, marking a period of innovation and change in Gibson's approach to this iconic guitar. Introduced in the late 1960s as a replacement for the Les Paul Standard, the 1971 Deluxe features a solid mahogany body with a carved 3-piece maple top. This one even has a nice piece of flame on the lower bout! A distinctive feature of the Deluxe is its mini-humbucking pickups, which were designed to fit into the P-90 single coil pickup routes. The neck profile on this one is thicker, and more resembling a 50's LP, when compared to the thinner feel of the later models. This one has been well kept over the years, and only displays minor playwear and light signs of checking.

Originality wise, The original strap buttons have been replaced, along with the tune-o-matic bridge. Also to note is the pickguard is missing, giving the guitar a more streamlined look and possibly reflecting the player's aesthetic preference or a desire for unobstructed access to the strings. Additionally, the original knobs have been swapped out, a change that guitarists often make to personalize the feel and control of the instrument. Thankfully these changes all result in an excellent, well-playing instrument. It comes with a modern Gibson hardshell case.
