This 1990s Gibson Les Paul R9 in Cherry Sunburst comes from Norman’s personal stash at Norman’s Rare Guitars—reserved only for the very best examples. Featuring a beautifully figured maple top with classic ’Burst character, this early Historic Reissue captures the feel, tone, and craftsmanship that made the original ’59 Les Paul legendary. Its rounded neck profile, resonant mahogany body, and articulate PAF-style pickups deliver rich sustain, dynamic response, and vintage-authentic warmth. Exceptionally well-preserved and expertly selected, this R9 represents the pinnacle of 1990s Gibson Custom Shop production. A collector-grade instrument with undeniable mojo and world-class playability.

A 1990s Gibson Les Paul R9 Cherry Sunburst guitar was made by the Gibson Custom Shop as a reissue of the 1959 model. It was manufactured in the United States during the years 1990-1992, before the official "Historic" line was fully established, and is considered a "Pre-Historic" or "Pre-Historic Flametop Reissue". These guitars are highly sought-after by collectors and players for their vintage look, feel, and sound, which mimics the original 1959 Les Paul.

This guitar comes with the original hardshell case and weighs 7.0 lbs.
