A 1966 Fender Precision Bass in Candy Apple Red was made in 1966, though some were manufactured in late 1965 and shipped in 1966. It is a vintage bass guitar with an alder body, a maple neck, and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. The Candy Apple Red finish was a popular custom color for Fender in the mid-1960s and was applied over a white undercoat, a gold layer, and topped with a clear coat.
